Vandal spat on cars owned by Muslim couple

A Muslim couple faced the great indignity of having their cars spat on consecutive days in London last week.

We are supporting the couple and liaising with local police on this matter.

The couple reviewed their own CCTV footage which confirmed that both incidents occurred before 9 am.

They feel that the incident was motivated by their Muslim faith as they are the only Asian family who lives on their street.

In our 2016 report, A Constructed Threat: Identity, Intolerance and the Impact of Anti-Muslim Hatred, we documented 80 incidents of anti-Muslim abuse in households or private properties (12 per cent). Incidents categorised by Tell MAMA as vandalism in 2016 totalled 43 or 7 per cent.
